Steps
- Begin any puja by first invoking Lord Ganesha to remove obstacles.
- Offer durva grass (a favorite of Ganesha) and red flowers.
- Apply turmeric and kumkum to the idol.
- Offer modak as prasad.
- Recite the Ganesha mantra before proceeding to the main deity's worship.
