આમાં 10,000 વિદ્યાર્થીઓ અને 20 દેશોના 2,000 શિક્ષકો 427 CEમાં હતા. તેમાં 9-મંઝિલની લાઇબ્રેરી હતી. ઓક્સફોર્ડ યુનિવર્સિટી નાલંદા પહેલેથી જ પ્રાચીન હતી તે પછી 600 વર્ષમાં સ્થાપિત થઈ.
