તે એકલી અમેરિકા ગઈ. કશું જ જાણ્યા વિના અંગ્રેજી શીખી. ફિલાડેલ્ફિયામાં 21 વર્ષની ઉંમરે ડોક્ટર તરીકે ક્વોલિફાય થઈ. ભારત પરત આવી. 22માં તબીબની બીમારીથી મૃત્યુ પામ્યું — પરંતુ મહિલાઓ માટે શક્યતાને કાયમ બદલ્યા વગર.
