न जायते म्रियते वा कदाचित् नायं भूत्वा भविता वा न भूयः।
अजो नित्यः शाश्वतोऽयं पुराणो न हन्यते हन्यमाने शरीरे॥
आत्मा कभी जन्म नहीं लेती। यह कभी मरती नहीं है। यह न तो अस्तित्व में आई है, न अस्तित्व में आ रही है, और न ही अस्तित्व में आएगी। यह अविभाज्य, शाश्वत, सदैव विद्यमान, और प्राचीन है। जब शरीर मारा जाता है, तब इसे नहीं मारा जाता। — गीता 2.20
