ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಶಸ್ತ್ರದಿಂದ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಲಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ, ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ತೇವಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅಥವಾ ಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ಒಣಗಿಸಲಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

नैनं छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैनं दहति पावकः।
न चैनं क्लेदयन्त्यापो न शोषयति मारुतः॥
ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಶಸ್ತ್ರದಿಂದ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಲಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ, ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ತೇವಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅಥವಾ ಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ಒಣಗಿಸಲಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ಶಾಶ್ವತ, ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಇರುವ, ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಲಾಗದ, ಚಲಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಮತ್ತು ಸದಾ ಒಂದೇ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. — ಭಾಗವದ ಗೀತೆ 2.23
