ആത്മയെ ഏതെങ്കിലും ആയുധം മുറിക്കുകയോ, തീയിൽ കത്തിക്കുകയോ, വെള്ളത്തിൽ മൃദുക്കരിക്കുകയോ, കാറ്റിൽ ഉണക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയില്ല.

नैनं छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैनं दहति पावकः।
न चैनं क्लेदयन्त्यापो न शोषयति मारुतः॥
ആത്മയെ ഏതെങ്കിലും ആയുധം മുറിക്കുകയോ, തീയിൽ കത്തിക്കുകയോ, വെള്ളത്തിൽ മൃദുക്കരിക്കുകയോ, കാറ്റിൽ ഉണക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയില്ല. ഇത് നിത്യമായ, സകലവ്യാപകമായ, മാറ്റം വരുത്താനാകാത്ത, അസ്ഥിരമായ, എന്നും ഒരുപോലെ തന്നെയാണ്. — ഭഗവദ് ഗീത 2.23
